Quality Assurance

Ensuring that your iron and steel products are the strongest in the business.

You’ll Receive Only The Highest Quality Castings

We’ve developed a thorough quality assurance process to ensure the castings you receive will be strong and high quality. We adhere to Lean Manufacturing Principles, and constantly improve our processes as an ongoing effort to reduce waste, increase quality, and deliver castings in the most economical way. As a result, our quality program begins with the end in mind.

Whether you need iron or steel castings, you can depend on Lodi quality. Our established inspection system meets or exceeds the requirements of MIL-I-45208A.

Lodi proudly holds the ITAR Professional® Certification which ensures that we have an expert working knowledge of exporting and importing under the U.S. Department of State Directorate of Defense Trade Controls' (DDTC) International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

The International Organization for Standardization(ISO) is an independent organization that develops standards to ensure the safety, quality, and efficiency of systems, products, and services. Lodi Iron Works proudly hold the fifth edition of ISO 9001.

We conduct scores of tests to meet SAE, AISI, ASTM and AMS standards and specifications. Castings are checked for integrity, soundness, dimensional accuracy and finish, to name a few. If castings don’t shape up, we don’t ship them out – it’s that simple.

Quality Management System

Lodi Iron Works is constantly working to provide you with a product that meets your requirements fully, and also lives up to the strict guidelines of our quality management system which is based on the requirements of ISO 9001 and AS9100. No job is too small for us when it comes to quality control and assurance.

The Lodi Quality Control Department conducts a broad spectrum of laboratory tests to ensure the quality of our sand system. This includes methylene blue, green compression strength, moisture, compactability, loss on ignition, hardness, etc. Dimensional inspection of first article castings is performed to validate the pattern. Brinell Hardness Testing is a regular feature of our Quality Inspection. Quality assurance also checks the chemical composition of each heat of metal using our in-house spectrometer.
