Melting is done in two 7,000 lb induction furnaces, or by batch melting in 2,000 lb or 1,000 lb electric furnaces. Chemical analysis of all metals is performed by spectrographic techniques. Dimensional layout services are provided when required, as well as hardness testing, X-ray, ultrasonic, penetrant and magnetic particle inspection.
Our molding department consists of three automatic molding machines, cope & drag machines, air-set and floor molding. Core making consists of an OMCO, Palmer Pepset line, and IS0-Cure.

High Tolerance Precision Machining
Lodi Iron Works offers high tolerance precision CNC machining applications for steel, stainless steel, iron, ductile iron, aluminum, bronze and plastic materials. We utilize the Zeiss CMM machine that allows us to get precision measurements of one micrometer or less. Our foundry specializes in sand castings and foundry patterns with two 40” x 20” vertical mills, 4’ x 8’ vertical router and a 13” x 24” turning lathe.
We offer low volume and high volume production runs and can work with native Solidworks files and other 3D modeling file formats.
